Former Rossonero Roberto Donadoni said Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali has ‘improved’ big time since his first season. ‘Compared to last year, he is completely transformed’.

The former Brescia midfielder was criticised for his performances during his first season at San Siro, but the pundits are singing his praises this term.

Tonali has scored two goals and contributed one assist in seven appearances in the League this season, with Milan unbeaten and second in Serie A.

“I like him a lot,” Donadoni told Radio Rai. “But I also liked him last year, when Milan signed him.

“Now, he has improved a lot. Yesterday, he scored a goal using his aggression, despite [Atalanta midfielder Remo] Freuler’s error.

“Compared to last year, he is completely transformed. He has become aware of his skills and he will be an added value. All the Milan midfielders are doing well.”

Former Lazio star Paolo Di Canio spoke about Tonali’s quality on Sky Sport Italia, saying the Rossoneri youngster has turned into a ‘quality alternative’.

“The quality alternative is Tonali,” Di Canio said. “His growth has been incredible. He does the same things as he did at Brescia, just better.

“He does it at a high level, just like Milan require.”

  1. I am under the impression that Sandro had a twin brother who played last year. It is impossible this is the same guy who played last season
