Does Donnarumma earn less at PSG than Milan?

L’Equipe claims that Gianluigi Donnarumma will initially earn less at Paris Saint-Germain than the contract extension he turned down at Milan.

The goalkeeper walked away from the club after going through their youth academy and getting his Serie A debut at the age of 16.

He was a free agent after refusing to sign the new contract, instead plumping for a deal reported to be worth €12m per season at PSG.

Now L’Equipe have analysed the paperwork and claim the Italy international won’t be making any more money in Paris.

The contract until June 2026 is said to be worth a guaranteed €7m per season after taxes.

On the other hand, the deal Milan were offering and that he turned down was closer to €8m per year net.

The deal he was on at San Siro before June was worth €6m net pet year.

The difference is in the performance-related bonuses and add-ons, which could take him up to a maximum of €10m per year if PSG win the Ligue 1 title and the Champions League.

Donnarumma is also initially on a lower salary than his teammate Keylor Navas, although it is meant to rise during the five years of the contract.
