Fiorentina had an unusual venue for Dodo’s transfer completion from Shakhtar Donetsk, as he signed the contract on the pitch before a friendly.
The right-back had his medical on Thursday and put pen to paper this afternoon on a table set up in the middle of the turf at their pre-season Centro Sportivo C Benatti training camp in Moena.
Ahead of the match against Trento, Dodo and director Joe Barone battled windy conditions to sign the contract.
It is believed to be a loan with obligation to buy for a total of circa €14.5m including add-ons and performance-related bonuses.
The 23-year-old Brazilian will have his first Serie A experience after Coritiba, Shakhtar Donetsk and Vitoria Guimaraes.
Following the curious ceremony, fans applauded and the players got back into position to begin the match against Trento.
