Dodo reveals what Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano told him after the 2-1 win over Milan and the inspiration behind those dance routines.

The Viola started strong and took their chances, as Nico Gonzalez converted a penalty for Fikayo Tomori’s foul on Jonathan Ikone and Luka Jovic scored with an acrobatic diving header.

Theo Hernandez got one back in stoppages, blasting into the near top corner, but Milan were beaten 2-1 for their second consecutive defeat at the Stadio Franchi.

“We worked hard this week and knew this was a difficult game, but we had to win on home turf. We won here in the Conference League and thought we had to have the same attitude, so we’re happy,” Dodo told Sky Sport Italia.

Fiorentina coach Italiano gave Dodo such a big hug after the goal that he lifted him right off the ground, so what did he say?

“The coach talked to us this week and asked for us to give everything in the match. We are giving our all for the team, for our families, the fans and for us.

“I really missed giving an assist, so I am happy with this. The coach told me I am a strong player and can keep doing this.”

Dodo, Igor and Arthur Cabral are the driving forces behind the different dance routines that Fiorentina perform after every goal.

“It is a Brazilian thing, we always see Vinicius on TikTok and think what dances we can come up with.”
