According to reports in Italy, Tammy Abraham’s transfer from Chelsea to Roma includes a rolling commission worth €400,000 every six months.
The centre-forward has been a sensation at the Stadio Olimpico in his debut season, scoring 20 goals in all competition.
The terms of the transfer had Roma paying €40m plus up to €5m in performance-related bonuses to Chelsea.
It will be spread out with €5m payable in the first season, another €20m by the end of 2024 and a further €15m by the close of the 2024-25 campaign.
Chelsea have a buy-back clause worth €80m that is not valid for the first season.
Now Calciomercato.com claim they have examined the Roma balance sheet and found a curious extra payment that is reserved for Chelsea and Abraham’s agent.
While representatives often get a commission for brokering a deal, this is a sort of rolling commission that is activated for every six months the player spends in the Giallorossi jersey.
It is believed to be worth €400,000 for six months, so €0.8m per season, but it is not clear if this is going entirely to the agent or to Chelsea.

It’s still a great deal for Roma. They are the winners of this deal anyway you look at it. Basically got him for peanuts.
They’ve got a good striker for peanuts. Chelsea let away a good home grown striker and brought in a terrible replacement worth 100mil.
