Dnipro have confirmed that striker Nikola Kalinic will fly to Italy to officially sign for Fiorentina.

The player’s agent this week declared that his client wants to move to Serie A this summer, and urged the Viola to work out a deal with the Ukrainian side.

The Tuscan side then confirmed they were in negotiations, and Dnipro have now announced that Kalinic is set to join Paulo Sousa’s squad.

“Croatian striker Nikola Kalinic has said his goodbyes to the the team, coaching staff and management of FC Dnipro,” the club announced on its official website.

“Instead of travelling to Odessa for the fifth match of the Premier League campaign against Shakhtar, he will instead travel to Italy to sign a contract with Florence-based club Fiorentina.”
