Sassuolo coach Alessio Dionisi says Milan‘s win on Sunday ‘should not be taken for granted’ and praises the Neroverdi starlet Giacomo Raspadori.

Sassuolo host Stefano Pioli’s men in the last game of the season on Sunday. Milan will become Serie A champions for the first time in 11 years with a win or a draw at the Mapei Stadium.

“These days, I’ve found out that I have friends I didn’t know. I can’t even tell you how many ticket requests I’ve received,” Dionisi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I had to say no to everyone, but I bought one for my daughter. The atmosphere will be magic.

“I understand they don’t give us many chances. Milan are a better team and are having an unbeaten streak. They deserve to be table leaders and it’s normal that many give their victory for granted, but we are Sassuolo, not a sparring partner. The result is not decided yet.

“We have nothing to lose and we have the qualities to create problems for Milan,” the coach continued.

“We play attacking football, like Milan, which can be dangerous with counter-attacks and transitions.

“We need to have the right approach because Milan won’t get it wrong. We want to show how much we have improved and I hope the game will be a spot for Italian football, open till the end.”

Which player has improved the most?

“As a coach, it’s not fair to name just one player, but I can say that Raspadori is the team’s soul. When a teammate falls, he is ready to help in every sense. He always has an exemplary commitment and is always involved in the game.

“I want to give continuity to this project,” continued Dionisi.

“I am unhappy with the goals conceded this season and we can’t pretend it’s a problem that doesn’t exist. We must be convinced that we can improve because scoring more goals than these is hard. Then, I’d like to see a better adjustment to the difficult moments of the game.

“On the other hand, I am satisfied with the finishing, the attack to space and the positive transitions.”
