Dionisi: ‘Sassuolo must forget win against Juventus’

by | Oct 27, 2021 20:36

Sassuolo coach Alessio Dionisi believes the Neroverdi played an excellent first half, but urges his players to forget their win against Juventus.

The Neroverdi collected their first away win in Turin in their history. They had beaten Juventus only once before, but it was at the Mapei Stadium in 2015.

Massimiliano Allegri was in charge of Juventus at that time and a Nicola Sansone goal gave the Neroverdi all three points.

This time, goals from Davide Frattesi and Maxime Lopez helped Sassuolo snatch a historic win in Turin.

“It’s always nice to win, but like this, even more. We must be quick to forget it because on Sunday, we have a tough match,” Dionisi told DAZN.

“We played an excellent first half and were very good in the second half to remain in the game.

“In the beginning, we suffered Juventus’ pressing, then we reacted with courage. We sat deeper in the second half, but we remained compact.

“Perhaps, today’s result goes beyond our merits, but we’ve reaped the rewards of the previous performances,” Dionisi continued.

“We have strong players on the wings and we are using them the best way we can, a tree-man midfield is a consequence of our characteristics and it gives us more balance.”

Sassuolo return to the pitch on Sunday when they host Empoli at the Mapei Stadium.

They travel to Udinese’s Dacia Arena for the last game before the November break.

The Neroverdi have 14 points from 10 games in Serie A this season. They’ve moved one point off Juventus and are just four points behind Atalanta in fourth.

Grande Dionisi you are a genius. Let Juve faff around with the ball backwards and sideways, then at speed hit on the counter. Lord Allegri Patron Saint of ZOMBIE BALL must have been shocked seeing a team move the ball more than 1 mph.

juve are scared for a change,,,, old school kind .appointment of Pirlo was good but it needed time and patience.the management is rushing every thing trying to get a quick result thereby making more mistakes.be calme.im sure if they have given Pirlo a chance by now he should have steadied the ship , slowly clumbing up.3rd season then you have seen good thing s coming.to juve management stop listening to press.the press decampaigned Pirlo and you rushed your decisions. same position now,its a shame
