Bologna could bring in Aruna Dindane as a free agent after sending Alessandro Diamanti to China.

The Rossoblu are left without a key player in attack, as they sold Diamanti to Marcello Lippi’s team Guangzhou Evergrande this week.

They were able to complete his operation because the Chinese transfer window is still open, so Italian clubs can sell but not buy or sign on loan any new players.

The only loophole allows Serie A sides to snap up players who are out of contract, so Bologna’s options are limited.

According to Tuttosport, the Stadio Dall’Ara side have targeted Dindane as a suitable five-month stop-gap for Diamanti.

The 33-year-old was released from his contract with Crystal Palace due to doubts over his fitness and has not played for a club since June 2013.

It is rumoured Dindane is currently in Italy negotiating the terms of the deal.
