Federico Dimarco believes Inter must ‘kill off the games earlier’, while Marcus Thuram says ‘anyone could have scored’ against Benfica.

Dimarco and Thuram spoke to Canale 5 after a 1-0 victory at San Siro in the Champions League.

Thuram scored the winner, but the Nerazzurri wasted several goal-scoring opportunities in the second half.

“All games are different. We saw a great Inter tonight. We wanted to win,” said Dimarco.

“However, we must try to kill off the games earlier because these matches can be tricky and anything can happen.

“All strikers are doing well, we are in a good situation in attack. It is not easy to play a game every three days. We are in a good moment and we work hard every week. This group is united and can do well in every game.

“We were a bit slow in the first half, but in the second half, it was all different.”

Match-winner Thuram added: “Anyone could have scored in this game, Lautaro, Mkhitaryan and more. I scored in the end and I am happy.

“Lautaro? He is one of the best strikers in the world. I am learning to play with him and it’s easier to play with someone like him close to you.”
