Lucas Digne says Roma are going to Bayer Leverkusen in search of “maximum points” tomorrow evening.

The Giallorossi are coming off a disappointing result in the last round of matches, a 3-2 defeat to BATE Borisov.

“I think we could have done much better against the Belarussians,” Digne admitted, speaking to BeIN Sports.

“We had a good performance against Barcelona. The result against BATE Borisov was definitely negative, but everything is still open for qualification. We’ll do everything to go through.

“Leverkusen? They’re a good team who play well at home, and always go in search of a result. We’re going there to take maximum points, we’ll do our best.”

Digne moved to the capital club this summer, joining from Paris Saint-Germain on loan with the option to buy.

“It wasn’t all on a whim, I needed to get back on the pitch. Football is a game for me, and I have to play it to feel happy.

“I had to find a way to get back on the pitch. The European Championships [in France next summer] are an important goal for me.

“After my experience in Paris, I’m here to enjoy this new opportunity with Roma.

“There were some other teams interested in me, but I was immediately leaning toward Roma, because the Giallorossi have shown interest in me for several years.

“Also there was a Coach here [Rudi Garcia] who knows me, so I had no doubts.”
