Roma full-back Lucas Digne says “it’s a nice surprise” to be named in the France squad for Euro 2016.
The defender was one of three Serie A stars named in Didier Deschamps squad, but Patrice Evra and Paul Pogba of Juventus were virtual certainties, while Digne has been in and out of the squad.
“I’m very happy of course, I was watching,” Digne told RMC Sport, as the announcement by Les Bleus had been broadcast live.

“The Coach hadn’t called me, it’s a nice surprise. I knew I’d had a good season so I was hoping to be called.”
