Roma and Inter have decided to suspend their deal with main shirt sponsor DigitalBits due to lack of payments, and the cryptocurrency company has responded in a press release.

The firm had become the main shirt sponsors of both the Nerazzurri and Giallorossi this season but failed to meet their financial obligations, not paying Inter any of the instalments for the 2022-23 season, leading the club to drop them from their shirts and advertising hoardings at San Siro.

Until now, DigitalBits had been paying Roma as agreed, but that has now changed and the cryptocurrency company has missed payments to the Giallorossi as well, leading the deal to be suspended by the club.

As highlighted by AdnKronos, DigitalBits have released a press statement today responding after the suspension of their partnership with Roma and Inter.

“Digitalbits foundation has undertaken a proactive process for the redefinition of partnerships that will involve the Digitalbits brand in the future, in line with the objectives of economic sustainability and use of blockchain technology.

“The sponsorship contracts regarding the exposure of the Digitalbits brand with the football teams Roma and Inter were concluded with Zytara labs. Digitalbits foundation represents the community and ecosystem aimed at promoting blockchain technology and its use.”

Over the last few days, reports have emerged that DigitalBits have separated themselves from Zytara, the company legally responsible for sponsorship contracts, something that could have an impact on their deals with Roma and Inter.
