Atalanta have not changed that much from the side that won the Europa League Final, as nine of the starting XI against Real Madrid tonight are the same who played with Bayer Leverkusen.

The UEFA Super Cup kicks off at the National Stadium in Warsaw at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens on the LIVEBLOG.

If there is no winner after 90 minutes, then it goes straight to a penalty shoot-out rather than requiring extra time.

Much was said in the build-up about how La Dea were decimated by injuries to Gianluca Scamacca, Giorgio Scalvini, Rafael Toloi, Nicolò Zaniolo and the refusal to play of Teun Koopmeiners, who is trying to force through a transfer to Juventus.

Despite that, the starting XI chosen by Gian Piero Gasperini tonight is almost identical to the one that beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the Europa League Final.

The only differences are Scamacca and Koopmeiners ruled out, replaced by Mario Pasalic and Marten de Roon.

Both are easily more defensive figures than those they stepped in for, taking away a little bit of the winning strategy that Gasperini had used against Leverkusen, when attack was the best form of defence.

De Roon was forced to miss the Europa League Final with an injury that also ruled him out of EURO 2024 with the Netherlands.

Atalanta then and now

Atalanta Europa League: Musso; Djimsiti, Hien, Kolasinac; Zappacosta, Koopmeiners, Ederson, Ruggeri; Lookman, De Ketelaere; Scamacca

Atalanta Super Cup: Musso; Djimsiti, Hien, Kolasinac; Zappacosta, De Roon, Ederson, Ruggeri; Pasalic; De Ketelaere, Lookman
