Amadou Diawara’s agent claims his client dreams of joining Valencia, so Roma could go for Granit Xhaka, Tanguy Ndombele or Danilo Pereira.

José Mourinho still hopes to get one new midfielder in January after welcoming Sergio Oliveira on loan from Porto.

However, the Giallorossi must free up wages before completing new signings and Diawara is expected to leave in the last few days of the January transfer window.

The midfielder’s agent Daniele Piraino spoke to Marca, admitting that his client is ready to join Valencia.

“We will decide over the next few days. Italian and French clubs are interested, but his dream is to play for Valencia.”

Piraino met Roma director Tiago Pinto yesterday. “We decided that Diawara must leave. For now, I can only say that he would be enthusiastic about Valencia,” the agent claimed.

There were reports that Diawara had snubbed a move to Valencia, but the former Napoli midfielder seems keen on moving to Spain.

If he does leave, Roma could sign one new midfielder.

Granit Xhaka is still on top of Mourinho’s shopping list and according to Calciomercato.com, Arsenal could send the Swiss international to the Stadio Olimpico on loan with an obligation to buy for €22m.

PSG’s Danilo Pereira has also been offered to Roma, but Mourinho is reportedly not convinced about his signing as he is looking for a player with different characteristics.

Tottenham’s Tanguy Ndombele remains a target, but only on loan and Spurs want Roma to pay a big slice of the Frenchman’s salary until the end of the season.
