Diario AS claim that PSG are prepared to let Kylian Mbappé join Real Madrid for free next summer if they pick up Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus, finally uniting him with Lionel Messi.

The arrival of Messi at Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent after Barcelona were unable to commit financially to a new contract has sent shockwaves through the transfer market.

It also ruined a scenario that had been set out by Spanish and some Italian papers for a while, the idea that Ronaldo would leave Juventus this summer for PSG.

That is now no longer happening, but Diario AS maintain it could just be a delay of a year.

The report states that Mbappé seemed determined to leave as a free agent in July 2022 in order to make his Real Madrid dream come true.

If that happens, then PSG consider CR7 to be the ideal big name replacement, not to mention creating the long-awaited superstar duo of Ronaldo and Messi.

These two rivals have dominated the Ballon d’Or race for over a decade and it has always been a dream to see them in the same XI.

Ronaldo’s contract with Juventus expires in June 2022 and neither party seem remotely interested in discussing an extension right now, so he too would be a free agent next summer.
