Alessandro Diamanti believes Inter coach Antonio Conte is the ‘best in Italy’ and says the tactician's former players ‘have confirmed it’.

Former Italy international Diamanti currently plies his trade at Western United FC in July 2019 but the 37-year-old continues to follow Italian football from Australia.

The former Palermo, Atalanta, Fiorentina and Bologna player believes Conte has proved to be the leading coach in Italian football in recent years, but he’s not surprised about what’s happening at the Nerazzurri.

The former Palermo, Atalanta, Fiorentina and Bologna player believes Conte has proved to be the leading coach in Italian football in recent years, but he’s not surprised about what’s happening at the Nerazzurri.

“I grew up in Italy, this is the good and the bad of our football,” Diamanti told Il Corriere dello Sport. “I have no idea what is behind this story, I can’t and I’m not interested in knowing.

“I only have one thought about Conte as a coach, that he is the best Italian coach. All the players he has coached, confirmed this to me.”
