It looks likely that Italy boss Cesare Prandelli will start with Alessandro Diamanti and Cristian Ledesma against Romania in Klagenfurt tomorrow night.

The pair featured in Prandelli's 'preferred XI' in Italy's final training session at Coverciano before they catch a flight to Austria later this afternoon.

Prandelli experimented with a 4-3-1-2 formation whereby Diamanti took up a position in the hole behind Mario Balotelli and Giuseppe Rossi up front.

Incidentally, Balotelli will wear the No 10 shirt.

Prandelli's three-man midfield platform was comprised of Alberto Aquilani, Stefano Mauri and Ledesma, although some feel one of those players will lose out to Daniele De Rossi.

Bologna goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano was preferred to Salvatore Sirigu again, while Prandelli's backline included new boys Andrea Ranocchia and Federico Balzaretti together with Leonardo Bonucci and Davide Santon.

Italy possible XI: Viviano; Santon, Ranocchia, Bonucci, Balzaretti; Mauri, Ledesma, Aquilani; Diamanti; Balotelli, Rossi
