Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted former Atalanta starlet Amad Diallo might have to find playing time elsewhere on loan. ‘We have to decide before Christmas’.

The youngster agreed a move to Old Trafford in October 2020 and completed the transfer in January 2021.

Diallo was a product of the Atalanta youth academy, but the 19-year-old has yet to feature for the Rossoneri in 2021-22.

He signed a deal until June 2025, but Solskjaer revealed the Ivory Coast international might have to leave on loan to play regularly.

“We have to decide before Christmas if Diallo will be able to play enough here, or if he will go somewhere else,” Solskjaer said at a press conference ahead of the home game against Diallo’s former club.

Atalanta travel to Old Trafford for the third match in the Champions League and are currently first in Group F with four points from the two games against Villarreal and Young Boys.

Diallo appeared once in the Champions League with Atalanta before moving to United, where he was given four appearances in the Europa League – scoring against Milan in the first leg of the round of 16 last term.
