New Fiorentina loan signing Modibo Diakite today challenged his teammates to finish in Serie A’s top three and qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Speaking at his unveiling as a Viola player, the 26-year-old said he was delighted to have arrived in Florence and wants to help the club achieve its aims this season.
“The Viola are a great club,” Diakite told the journalists gathered. “They have a great manager and very good organisation.
“I chose to come here because I saw a lot of Fiorentina on television when I was in England.
“The Viola play great football and keep the ball on the floor.
“We think we can get to the final of the Coppa Italia. We also have the chance to get third place in the League.
“Is third between us and Napoli? They are two strong teams fighting to finish third.
“Whoever is fresher going into the final games of the season will get it.”
