Bologna club manager Marco Di Vaio is ‘convinced Roberto Donadoni will stay’ despite Italy rumours.

The Rossoblu Coach has been one of the names most heavily linked with succeeding Antonio Conte on the Azzurri bench after Euro 2016.

However, club director and former player Di Vaio reiterated that the club is planning for a future alongside Donadoni.

“Donadoni? We’ve already addressed the topic of his future with the person concerned and he has given his availability to stay," Di Vaio said to Sky Sport Italia.

“When he arrived our position in the table was deficient, things have changed thanks to the Coach and at the moment we’re planning for the future together with our Coach. We’re convinced he’ll stay next year as well.

“Italy? We must have faith, the CT is the added value and there are many experienced players. I’m sure we’ll have a great Euros.

“[Emanuele] Giaccherini had a great game against Spain, playing from the start for the national team is always a positive and we hope that he’ll return to Bologna fired up.

“The next game will be very important for us, we failed against Carpi and then two defeats came, but winning against Verona could mathematically keep us up and we could focus on the final matches light heartedly."

Di Vaio also touched upon the subject of sporting director Pantaleo Corvino, who could be leaving the club at the end of the season and potentially replaced by Roma's Walter Sabatini.

“We’re only thinking about staying up, we’ll talk about the future in due course," said Di Vaio.

"Once we’ve reached the objective we will plan for next season, Corvino will talk with the President and they will make the definitive decision.

“Verona have nothing to lose, it’ll be a complicated match, but the team must stay out of the discussion on the future of the directors.

“Sabatini? It’s not right to talk about others. Also about our director, who will choose whether to leave or stay here at Bologna.

“The decision is up to him and we’ll only talk about possible names to succeed him when he’s made his decision."
