Antonio Di Natale believes Francesco Guidolin would be an excellent choice to replace Cesare Prandelli as Italy Coach.

The experienced tactician stepped down from the Udinese hot seat at the end of last season but has remained at the club behind the scenes.

His initial plan was to retire from coaching but, speaking at a Press conference, 36-year-old Di Natale insisted Guidolin would be delighted to hear from the Federcalcio.

“After a 30-year career he would be a good man for the Nazionale,” he told reporters. “He has a lot of qualities, he would deserve it.

“He is ready for Italy, he would be happy if the federation choose him.”

The veteran also said Bianconeri striker Luis Muriel has the potential to be better than Alexis Sanchez and praised the arrival of Dejan Stankovic as assistant to new Coach Andrea Stramaccioni.

“Muriel? Sanchez has less quality but more determination. He is a phenomenon, let’s all hope he can get it into his head that it can be his year.

“Stankovic will bring a lot of experience. It is good for football in general to have these great champions as leading figures.”
