However, he’s so far been unable to break into the plans of Prandelli and he hasn’t played for his country since World Cup 2010.
“I don’t think that you need to be a certain age to be part of the squad,” said the 34-year-old attacker who some consider as too old for selection.
“I think scoring more than 60 goals in two seasons are enough to put yourself in the spotlight for selection.
“It’s just up to the Coach to decide whether to pick me or not. In the meantime I am at his disposal,” he added.
“For the moment I am just concentrating on Udinese, but I would be very happy to represent Italy again.”
The former Empoli player has scored 10 goals in 36 games for his country. However, he’s not scored for the Azzurri since he netted a brace in September 2008’s win in Cyprus.
Italy boss Prandelli did recently insist that Di Natale is in his thoughts ahead of next summer’s European Championship.
Udinese boss Francesco Guidolin noted: “I don’t want to give any advice to Prandelli because he knows what to do.
“I can only say that Di Natale, who I see and train on a daily basis, is a world class player.”
