Antonio Di Natale expects “a very difficult game” in the Europa League against Siroki, but is ready to set an Udinese record.
The Friulani begin their European campaign with a preliminary round tie in Bosnia on Thursday evening.
“A very difficult game awaits us,” warned Di Natale in his Press conference.
“Siroki are extremely quick, but we also have all the elements needed to win. The team is young and we kept practically all of last season’s players.
“We are really eager to do well and make our mark.”
Di Natale could also enter the history books, as he is along with Valerio Bertotto the Udinese player with the most European appearances – 33.
“I am happy to share this record with Bertotto and if I were to beat it tomorrow then I’d be very proud.”
The captain is 36, but remains one of the contenders for a place in Italy’s 2014 World Cup squad.
“I realise that to receive a call from Cesare Prandelli I’ll have to do even better than last season. The World Cup would truly be a great gift.”
