Di Maria torn between Barcelona, Juventus and Benfica

Angel Di Maria is expected to make a decision regarding his future next week, likely choosing one of Barcelona, Juventus and Benfica.

The 34-year-old Argentinian winger has been in no rush to decide which club to join following his contract expiry with Paris Saint-Germain, wanting to make the right choice as he picks his final European adventure. Di Maria wants to retire in his homeland with Rosario, so he’s only looking for a short-term deal to close out his time in Europe.

As detailed by Corriere dello Sport, Di Maria is set to make a decision regarding his future in the coming days. Barcelona are currently leading the race to secure his signature, but their economic situation means they cannot close out a deal yet.

Juventus, on the other hand, can finalise things and have sent in an improved offer. The Bianconeri have proposed a one-year deal worth €7m net, with an option for a second season. The hope is that this could convince him to head to Turin.

Di Maria’s preference is still Barcelona for the time being, especially because his family are keen on the idea of moving to Spain, and the Benfica concept is also intriguing as well.

All involved clubs have done every possible to try and convince Di Maria and now the ball is in his court.
