Angel Di Maria confirms Juventus will try to ‘win both the Europa League and Coppa Italia’ after the 1-0 victory over Freiburg, while he is ‘talking’ about extending his stay in Turin.

The Argentina international has scored each of Juve’s last four goals in the Europa League, as he bagged a hat-trick against Nantes in the play-offs and tonight nodded in the Filip Kostic cross.

It gives the Bianconeri a slender lead going into the second leg of the Round of 16, which will be in Germany next Thursday.

“I had a bit of pain, it’s normal fatigue after so many games, but I think the important thing tonight was to work hard and win the game,” Di Maria told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am happy to have helped the team with a goal and hope to continue doing that for the rest of the season. We’ll do our best to win the Europa League, that is one of our objectives along with the Coppa Italia, and we’ll try to win them both.”

Di Maria was asked if he will remain with Juventus next season and further extend his contract rather than return to Argentina.

“We are talking, I don’t know. I am very happy here, I can really feel the affection of the fans now, which was a little more difficult for me at the start.”

Juventus will face Inter in the two-legged Coppa Italia semi-final next month.
