Giovanni Di Lorenzo’s agent confirms the right-back wants to see out the rest of his career at Napoli and ‘never took other offers into consideration.’

The Italy international was made captain after the departure of Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens over the summer, both as free agents.

His current contract runs to June 2026 and there are already discussions for an extension.

“We expressed our desire to the club. Di Lorenzo wants to see out his career at Napoli, then we’ll have to see if the club sees it the same way,” agent Mario Giuffredi told Radio CRC.

“Nothing is to be taken for granted, but Di Lorenzo had many calls and opportunities over the last few years, he never took other offers into consideration, because he chose to remain at Napoli.

“There’s a long career still ahead of him, especially with his physical strength and stamina, and he’d be very happy to play all of it at Napoli.”

The 29-year-old didn’t make his Serie A debut until 2018 at Empoli and joined Napoli for €8m in 2019.
