Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo said he would like to sign a lifetime contract with the club and it seems to be in the works.

The right-back was ever-present in the campaign that took them to their first Scudetto in 33 years and became a beloved figure both on and off the field.

He commented recently that he would be happy to sign with the Partenopei for life and they took him at his word.

According to Calciomercato.com, a meeting will be held with agent Mario Giuffredi to work out the terms of the long-term deal.

It will be a contract to June 2028, by which point Di Lorenzo will be about to turn 35 years of age.

His salary will also be improved from the current €2.3m per season to €3m net for five years, along with various performance-related bonuses tied to silverware.

Di Lorenzo joined Napoli in 2019 from Empoli at a cost of under €10m, just a year after making his Serie A debut.
