Angelo Di Livio warns ‘heads will roll’ at Juventus after their poor form and believes Antonio Conte would ‘rush back’ to replace Max Allegri.

The Bianconeri had been in the Scudetto race until hitting a brick wall and have now slumped to third place behind Milan after just one win in eight Serie A rounds.

“Considering what they’ve been doing in the second half of the season, nobody has been sufficient,” former Juve star Di Livio told Rai Sport.

“What we can complain about here is that the team gave up straight after the defeat to Inter and that does not seem right to me.”

They were held to a 0-0 draw by Genoa at the weekend, with striker Dusan Vlahovic sent off for receiving two yellow cards in quick succession for dissent.

“The stupid dismissal of Vlahovic is characteristic of this moment in time. The second half of the season for Juventus had them getting the results of a relegation team, it’s incredible. We have to take back all the good things we said about this team in the first half.”

Allegri has come under particular criticism for his style of play, trying to secure 1-0 victories and putting players out of position.

“It’s true that we can be angry with Allegri over lots of things, but at the end of the day heads will roll and they will be those of the players. A lot of them are not performing the way they should and we need to figure out why they are all so irritable.”

There are reports that Allegri will terminate his contract by mutual consent at the end of the season, as it runs to June 2025, and Di Livio has no doubts over who he would choose to replace him.

“I would get Conte, that is his priority and he would rush back for this club.”

Repubblica already reported today that Conte has turned down an approach from Bayern Munich because he would relish a return to Juventus.
