Eusebio Di Francesco admits he ‘wanted to slap’ Roma defender Dean Hujisen after his goal celebration: ‘He is young but he must not lack respect.’

Hujisen shushed the Frosinone fans after scoring the opener in the first half. There was tension between the crowd and the 18-year-old who snubbed a loan move to the Stadio Stirpe in the January transfer window to join the Giallorossi.

His goal celebration upset the home crowd and Eusebio Di Francesco who blamed the defender at a post-match press conference.

“I wanted to slap Hujisen because a young player can make errors but must not lack respect,” said EDF, as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb.

“The gesture was wrong. He lacked respect for the team and the fans. He tried to come here, he wanted to know a few things, we had spoken, but then he moved elsewhere. Daniele [De Rossi] was a leader on the pitch and I am sure he will make himself respected on the dugout too.”

De Rossi also spoke about his defender’s celebration after the game, promising he’d never do it again in the future.

Frosinone had a great start to the season, but are just three points above the relegation zone now.

“We are in line with our target,” ensured Di Francesco.

“Surely, we must be more resolute on the defensive front. If I were convinced to take more points at home by parking the bus, I’d do it. But we’d need characteristics that we do not have. We are not getting the results, but the performances are adequate. We melt too quickly, we concede one goal and then another one immediately after.”

Frosinone visit Juventus in the next Serie A game on February 25 and will host Lecce in a key home fixture on March 3. The Ciocari have never played for two consecutive seasons in Serie A.
