Hellas Verona coach Eusebio Di Francesco said it’s ‘a shame to hear’ that the Gialloblu ‘are in trouble’ after their third straight defeat in Serie A 2021-22. ‘I don’t agree’.

The coach arrives from difficult periods with Sampdoria and Cagliari and the start in Verona is equally challenging for the former Roma and Sassuolo tactician.

Mihajlovic: ‘Bologna were compact, a well-deserved win’

Di Francesco, however, doesn’t think Verona are in trouble after a 1-0 defeat to Bologna – the third in three Serie A games this term.

‘It’s a shame to hear that Verona are in trouble,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “Zero points despite so many good performances.

“We had the demerit of not grabbing our chances and the situations that presented themselves.

“This is football, we must shut up and take it as it is. The team has shown that it’s there. I don’t agree with the fact that Verona are in difficulty.”

Di Francesco was sacked after seven games with Sampdoria and then after picking up only 15 points in 23 games with Cagliari the following season.
