Eusebio Di Francesco has confirmed that he will become the new Coach of Lecce. "I couldn't say no to Serie A."

The former Roma player is expected in Milan on Friday to put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Stadio Via Del Mare outfit.

"The Lecce directors instantly made me feel important," said the departing Pescara boss on Thursday.

"They asked Pescara for permission to talk to me and offered me a contract, as well as an interesting project for the future.

"I couldn't say no to Serie A and the club have asked me to keep the team in the top flight. Lecce is an important place where you can play football at high levels."

Di Francesco, who has never bossed in the First Division, will be replaced at Pescara by Zdenek Zeman.
