Roma Coach Eusebio Di Francesco believes Juan Iturbe “must do more with the pace he has”.

The winger started in last night’s draw with Paris Saint-Germain, but was hooked at half-time before his side lost in a penalty shoot-out.

“It’s too early to say, especially for Iturbe, he’s come back to us and I’m still evaluating him,” Di Francesco said in the post-match Press conference.

“I have to say I liked Gerson today, who was very enterprising despite the missed penalty. He tried to be aggressive.

“I have to say I liked Gerson today, who was very enterprising despite the missed penalty. He tried to be aggressive.

“I’ve seen changes in him since he’s been training with me for a few days, he’s reacted and he’s looking for much more verticality than before.

“Iturbe has only been with me for three days, he can do a lot more and he needs to make better use of the pace that he has.

“Maxime Gonalons? He put himself at the service of the team, though obviously he still doesn’t have the knowledge of the team’s mechanisms.

“He showed great availability for his teammates. He could have done a lot better technically, but like everyone else there’s a bit of tiredness and at this point the legs don’t respond as the lads would want.

“It’s all normal, he showed great presence in the middle of the park. He and [Daniele] De Rossi will have a great battle, but it’s a good thing because I can choose the one who is in the best condition depending on the challenges we’re facing.

“I’m very happy with Maxime. Very.”
