Eusebio Di Francesco is reportedly in talks to take over as the coach of Fiorentina next season, having turned down Alaves.

According to Sportitalia, the former Sassuolo, Roma and Sampdoria boss has chosen the Viola as his favoured next destination.

The feeling is believed to be mutual, with Di Francesco emerging as the front-runner, especially as ex-Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi does not have the necessary credentials to take a Serie A coaching role.

Spanish side Alaves had approached Di Francesco with a two-year contract, but he was not convinced.
