“It’s a pity that we threw two points away,” Di Francesco told Sky Sport Italia.
“We wanted to dedicate the victory to Sardinia, for the tragedy that occurred yesterday, to show that we are all with them.”
There were flash floods and mudslides in the Nuoro area on Saturday, leading to three deaths.
“We concede too many goals, but we knew that already, and it’s not just the defence that has to work on this, but the whole team helping out. The defenders are often blamed, but they are the least responsible for some situations.
“We also should’ve had the strength to finish off the game, seeing as we wasted a couple of clear opportunities to go 3-1 up. Even with four strikers on the field, we still maintained some balance.”
