Parma have released veteran defender Valerio Di Cesare, who is likely to rejoin Bari in Serie D.

The 35-year-old spent his youth career with Lazio and Chelsea, but failed to break into the first team at either club.

After two years at Bari he joined the Ducali in 2017, helping win promotion from first Serie C and then Serie B.

“Parma Calcio 1913 company announces an agreement with Valerio Di Cesare for the consensual termination of his contract,” a statement on the club’s website begins.

Di Cesare is now expected to rejoin Bari, who are in Serie D after being declared bankrupt.
