Domenico Di Carlo is targeting three points in midweek against Bologna as the perfect remedy to the recent defeat to Inter.

Coach Di Carlo had claimed before the weekend game of the belief that the Mussi Volanti could take home a result from the San Siro, before his players succumbed to a Thiago Motta goal in a generally comfortable game for the Nerazzurri.

Talking to L'Arena, Di Carlo admitted his team slightly lost focus at a key moment of Sunday's encounter, but remained complimentary of what his players offered in the 1-0 defeat.

"If we had to lose a game, it is better to lose three points at San Siro and win against Bologna, but I am happy with what I saw against the Nerazzurri. We tried to play our game, not everything went well.

"To get a result against big teams like Inter you must take to the field with a bit more conviction. Chievo played a good game.

"We defended well in the first phase of the game, conceded from a set-piece and briefly went into crisis. Then we reacted, built up our game and put fear into the opponent's defence."

Di Carlo leads his Chievo team into meetings with Bologna and Siena over the course of four days.

"[It is] a tour de force. We will return to the field on Wednesday and against Bologna will try to do our upmost to get the win at the Bentegodi before taking the trip to Siena.

"Surely we will feel fatigue, but Chievo has to get used to these situations of stress if we want to make that leap in quality."
