Sampdoria boss Domenico Di Carlo admits he was left disappointed with the decision to sell Giampaolo Pazzini to Inter.

Sampdoria boss Domenico Di Carlo admits he was left disappointed with the decision to sell Giampaolo Pazzini to Inter.

The Italian international joined the champions last month just weeks after Di Carlo also saw Antonio Cassano sacrificed to Milan after his fall-out with the club.

"Of course I was disappointed," he stated. "I'm a Coach and Pazzini is an important player, something he is underlining now."

Pazzini has scored four goals for Inter in just three games, while Doria have failed to net a single goal in six of their last seven League games.

"Pazzini was in good shape while he was here and he's demonstrating that at Inter," the Doria tactician added.

"He has great enthusiasm and has been welcomed well at Inter. With hard work he is cultivating his desire to win.

"With Cassano we all know what happened, but with Pazzini it all occurred in the space of three days."

Samp are struggling in 14th place in the standings with just 27 points, but the tactician is remaining optimistic despite fans' protests.

"If we work in a certain way then we can come out of this negative moment," he claimed.

"It's been a peculiar week where we have collected three losses, but we can't destroy the work we have been doing since the summer in the space of seven days."
