Bergomi discussed Inter’s progress under coach Conte and the former Nerazzurro said he’s not convinced the team have developed enough to win the League this term.
“I think Inter have been like this for a year and a half,” Bergomi told Sky Sports Club. “I don’t know if that’s enough to win.
“I’m not sure if they can improve that much.”
But Di Canio interrupted the former Inter hero and pointed out that he said otherwise at the start of the season.
“However, Beppe, sorry if I’m interrupting you, but they have five points less than last year and are out of the Champions League, when everyone said, not me, that they were the biggest favourite in the group, even more than Real Madrid.
“Instead, they were eliminated from the group stages. That is all, everyone can say what they like, but objectively… to win the championship can overturn the outcome.
“At the beginning of Serie A, I put Inter and Juve on par to win, in terms of size, players and coaches. Because otherwise we go back to normal.
“We all put Conte among the top coaches in the world."
