“I don’t remember Bardi making a single save,” Di Biagio told Rai Sport.
“In football you must always try to improve, so when you create so many scoring opportunities, you really have to take them. At least we practiced the right movements to create the chances and took the initiative.
“We should’ve been more aggressive on their centre-forwards and close up the team, which we did at times and created a lot of problems for Denmark.
“I am fairly satisfied with the new players, though of course we cannot be happy after a defeat. We are on the right track.”
Inter’s 17-year-old striker Federico Bonazzoli was a late substitute, becoming Italy’s youngest ever player at Under-21 level.
