Goalkeeper Etrit Berisha is out of action following a fracture to his hand in training, so 23-year-old Karlo Letica will get his debut following the loan from Club Brugge.
“We’ll above all miss Berisha for his charisma and presence in the team, but I can relax knowing that Letica is ready,” said Di Biagio in his press conference.
“It seems like a different sport after three months, with five substitutions and no crowd in the stands. We can’t afford to hold back, and in a way that’s an advantage for us.
“I have some clear ideas tactically, even if the only guarantee at this moment is we’ll use a four-man defence.”
Di Biagio was appointed to SPAL after historic coach Leonardo Semplici was fired, but gave mixed messages on his situation.
“As far as I am concerned, I see myself at SPAL, regardless of which division we are in next season. Of course, things can change, but there’s time to discuss that. Right now, we have to focus on Cagliari and securing safety.”
