Gigi Di Biagio admits “there is a lot we have to work on” after his Italy Under-21 side lost a friendly 3-0 to Slovakia.
This was the third defeat of his tenure and the heaviest too, as Lukas Hereslin bagged a brace before Empoli striker Samuel Mraz added a third.
“Slovakia deserved the victory, they played better than us and we were always second to the ball,” the Coach told reporters.

“Slovakia deserved the victory, they played better than us and we were always second to the ball,” the Coach told reporters.
“We knew that Slovakia were tough and tonight they didn’t lose a single tackle. Moments like this can happen, as we are only in September and the season has just begun, but that mustn’t be a justification.
“We’ll try to find the positives, although there aren’t many of them. We nonetheless had the opportunity to perform a few experiments, trying out a different tactic and style of approaching the game.
“Now we must try to improve straight away with Tuesday’s match against Albania. There is a lot we have to work on and improve.
“It’s disappointing, as I never like to lose or play badly, but today we did both.”
