New Roma President Thomas Di Benedetto has asked for patience as the outfit begin what he hopes will be a successful new chapter.

The Eternal City side are at the start of a revolution after the Sensi family were succeeded at the helm of the club by the American.

"We are starting a new era which will change the world of football," Di Benedetto said at a Press conference in Italy this afternoon.

"We have ambitions and dreams which are shared by the people of Rome. This dream will need time to come true, but we'll be working on it. Rome wasn't built in a day."

Di Benedetto has hired a trio of men to run his new side in the shape of Franco Baldini – who won't officially arrive until later this year – sporting director Walter Sabatini and Coach Luis Enrique.

"Our objective is to have the best management in place as it all starts from there, even if we have to target what happens on the field of play," he added.

"The objective is to give flexibility in order to put together certain players that Sabatini and the Coach have asked for.

"We won't make decisions on who to buy, they will be taken by the managers we have put in place – Baldini, Sabatini and the Coach.

"They'll turn to us for the financial aspects, but we'll look to meet their requests."

Questioned about the transfer market, Di Benedetto confirmed that the club were targeting stars of tomorrow.

"We are following young players and we have to give those who have already been signed some time.

"We are counting on the younger players and if they make errors then we just have to show them patience.

"We hope to win the championship as soon as possible."

While there will be a host of new faces at La Magica this term, the American businessman insisted that local heroes Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi were going nowhere.

"Totti is the greatest player Roma have ever had. Perhaps, the best player Italy have ever had. He is a winner and we want to win.

"We admire De Rossi's ability and we firmly want him to stay here. He comes from this club and we want him to remain."

The latter's contract is set to expire in June 2012.
