Udinese forward Gerard Deulofeu had thought a few months ago that he might never play again, but reveals ‘good news’ after the latest medical check-up.

The 30-year-old has been out of action since November 2022 with a knee problem that he struggled to recover from even after more than one operation.

He confessed recently that there was the genuine fear he would not be able to play ever again and might have to retire early.

However, today Deulofeu published a reassuring message on his Instagram account.

“Good news after the medical check-up. I hope to soon make a big step that would represent joy for everyone.”

It included an image of Deulofeu working in the gym.

The Spain international played for many clubs over the years, including Barcelona, Everton, Sevilla, Milan and Watford, coming to Udinese in 2020.
