More details are emerging on the agreement between Milan and Chelsea for Ruben Loftus-Cheek, raising the overall cost of the operation to €20m.

Multiple sources have stated that a deal was reached in today’s negotiations and that the player has in turn also agreed personal terms for the switch to San Siro.

There are still differing reports over the formula and details of the transfer.

It was initially suggested that it would be a loan with obligation to buy for circa €15m.

Now Sky Sport Italia maintain this is a permanent move worth €16m plus up to another €4m in various add-ons and bonuses.

The 27-year-old England international has a contract to June 2024, but with an option to extend for another year.

He is a product of the Chelsea academy, only having loan spells in his career with Crystal Palace and Fulham, so this will not only be his first experience abroad, it is also his first outside of London.

Primarily a midfielder, Loftus-Cheek can also play on the right flank.

Milan are also in negotiations with Chelsea for striker Christian Pulisic.
