Details behind West Ham offer for Juventus midfielder Zakaria

West Ham have reportedly submitted their first offer for Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria following a round of talks.

Calciomercato.com details how the two clubs have been in close contact over the last few days through intermediaries, negotiating the possible transfer of the Swiss midfielder.

Zakaria has already agreed to the terms of a deal with West Ham and is keen at the idea of making the move to East London.

The Hammers submitted their first offer to Juventus today – a loan deal with an €18m conditional obligation to buy clause attached.

Whilst the figures are fairly close to the Bianconeri’s requests, the roadblock is the formula. The club are hoping for either a definitive transfer or an obligation clause, if not an easily activated conditional one.

The sale of Zakaria, and possibly his fellow outcast Weston McKennie, would allow Juventus to start working on a deal for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The two clubs are still in close contact and both parties are confident that a deal can be reached in the coming weeks.
