Inter are ready to offer Milan Skriniar a new contract as they look to shore up their backline and plan ahead for the future.

The 27-year-old Slovakian defender is having a great season under coach Simone Inzaghi this season, being rock solid at the back and proving his value to the Nerazzurri week in and week out. His current deal expires with the club at the end of next season, meaning that a renewal is needed to avoid a possible low-cost departure in the summer.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are ready to offer Skriniar a long contract with a significant salary, rewarding the Slovakian for his defensive solidity and loyalty.

The Slovakian centre back’s new deal will last until 2026, with an option for an extra year, with a salary of over €4m net per season, likely to be closer to €5m with add-ons.

Inter know they also need to sign a new defender in the summer, especially considering the uncertain future surrounding Stefan de Vrij, but securing Skriniar is an important step first.
