Details have begun to emerge online of the offer from Saudi Arabia to Roberto Mancini to become the nation’s new head coach following the news of his resignation as CT of the Italy national side on Sunday afternoon.

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, the Saudi FA has been courting Mancini for a considerable period of time already, and that their offer, which could be formalised in the coming days, is one that will be difficult to turn down.

It is believed that Mancini will be offered €18m per season to take over the vacant position as head coach of Saudi Arabia.

Reports elsewhere suggest that Mancini will be offered a three-year deal, which means he could pocket €54m over that period if he sees out the length of his proposed contract.

The permanent position had most recently been held by Herve Renard until March 2023, who left to lead France into the Women’s World Cup this summer. Saad Al-Shehri has been acting as interim since then.
