Roma are expected to officially announce the signings of Renato Sanches and Leandro Paredes from Paris Saint-Germain in the coming days, following the pair’s arrival in Italy on Tuesday afternoon.
While Paredes is coming in on a permanent deal worth a reported €4m, Sanches is expected to arrive on an initial loan deal, which will become mandatory if certain conditions are met.
To begin with, Roma will pay PSG a fee of €1m to secure the initial loan according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Then, the Giallorossi will have to pay a fee of €15m if Sanches plays in over 60% of the team’s matches this coming season.
Roma are set to start the 2023-24 campaign with a new look in midfield, having said goodbye to Georginio Wijnaldum and Nemanja Matic already this summer.
Jose Mourinho has also brought in Houssem Aouar on a free transfer following the expiry of his deal with Olympique Lyonnais. Sanches and Paredes’ arrivals means there will be three new faces in the middle of the park at the Stadio Olimpico this season.
