Matthijs de Ligt is on the verge of completing an €80m total move to Bayern Munich after they agreed a deal with Juventus.

The 22-year-old Dutch centre back is ready for the next stage of his career after an important three years in Turin, where he worked closely with experienced veterans Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.

As reported by TMW, De Ligt is now set to sign a five-year contract with Bayern Munich worth around €10m net per season plus add-ons, a little lower than the €11m salary he currently earns in Turin.

The Bavarian giants secured a deal after agreeing to pay Juventus €70m in a fixed fee plus around €10m in add-ons. The Dutch centre back will carry out his pre-transfer medicals this week and if everything goes to plan he’ll put pen to paper on the five-year contract.

During his three years in Turin, De Ligt made 117 appearances across all competitions for Juventus. He helped the side win a Scudetto, a Coppa Italia and a Supercoppa Italiana.

  1. Shame it never worked out for him at Juve. Decent business in current market. Juve need cover and maybe now is the opportunity to trust in the younger players in defence but also in midfield. Also FI need proper vetting on comments on site. Some are disgraceful.

  2. He was always going to move on given the previous comments by Raiola. Not bad business if it’s invested wisely. Good luck.

  3. He will be very succesfull at bayern I am sure and wish this youngster very best, unfortunetly there wast right place at this age to play for us in serie a… Simply not fit his style of pllife and everything else not for him here. Bayern will be perfect place, and we will find better suiting defender for us, but please we no need that 25 yo spaniard Pau Torres for 50mln, need cheap and good

  4. Juventus I found very good who can change De Ligt, its Nathan Ake from city I hearedhe is just 25mln cost and chelsea is not interested in him anymore after Koulibally, take Nathan Ake!!! Someone show this message to juve board please

  5. @Forzajuve – you cant buy anyone who’s cheap and good = they do not go together. We need an establish defender – who is near entering his peak and is a modern day defender and preferably comes from a better league = Pau Torres is the best option,

If you believe thr is a good cheap defender please name him

  6. Some of the comments I’m seeing are deplorable! Football Italia must do something; I don’t even know what they claim to moderate.

  7. lol Nathan Ake. George Evans of Millwall is the level of defender the 1996 CL winners need. He is cheap, not too young for Tchaikovsky Max and has the ability to learn how to put clamps on wheels. DeJuan Jones of the New England Revolution is another name they should look at. Forget about big names like Presenel Kimpembe, Kounde and Torres. The 1996 CL winners should have insisted on Hernandez from Bayern + the money. Too dumb of a club to think Moggi or Don Beppe.
